About the event

You are invited to the biggest celebration of societies & student volunteering...

The National Societies & Volunteering Awards are back for 2021! So, what's happening? The #NSVAs Ceremony

There will be a big, interactive online awards ceremony in May 2021 where we will hear from judges, the NSVAs team & award the Runners Up & Winners for each category.

We'll also be showcasing student talent throughout the event and in the lead up to the awards ceremony day.

Tickets for the #NSVAs are free for everyone. You need to register for a ticket using this eventbrite and that's it - you're in!

Judging

We have started creating amazing judging panels made up of sector specialists and organisations relevant to each category.

For this year we'd like to include student leaders in our panels and have created an application form for part-time and full-time elected officers to express an interest in being involved.

Tell me more...

In 2020, Organised Fun & the Student Volunteering Network set out to organise the #NSVAs as an in-person awards ceremony. the Covid-19 pandemic meant that plans changed and we ran the awards event online. We're doing the same for 2021 as unfortunately we are still experiencing Lockdown restrictions and social distancing. We can't guarantee a safe, in-person event in May, so we're keeping the awards online for 2021.

The best bit about being online? Everyone's invited and it's completely free!

If you're a student involved in societies or volunteering in your college or university, or

An elected sabbatical or part-time officer representing students, or

A staff professional working in a students' union, college or university, charity or voluntary organisation, &

Anyone else that has an interest in student volunteering and societies. You're invited!

How are the National Societies & Volunteering Awards produced? Who makes the #NSVAs happen?

Organised Fun are specialists in Student Opportunities (societies, volunteering, sports, student media, fundraising, student engagement). We are a small team, with one full-time and one part-time person running all of our projects, events and services. We are supported by three associate consultants who work with us on consultancy projects.

We decided to create the #NSVAs early in 2020 as there wasn't any UK-wide recognition for societies and volunteering. Sport, student media and fundraising are celebrated through BUCS, the Student Radio Association, the National Student TV Association, Student Publication Association and the National Student Fundraising Association.

We work with the Student Volunteering Network who are a peer support network for anyone employed by a UK higher or further education institution to support student volunteering activity. The committee are all volunteers.

For 2021 we are proud to have four students from Nottingham Trent University completing their academic placement with us: Grace, Libby, Rani & Raluca.

How?

Organised Fun run the #NSVAs at cost - they are not designed to make a profit and won't ever be a profiteering activity. In 2020 we funded the NSVAs and volunteered our time to make them happen.

We want to build a sustainable, long-term event. We are looking for sponsorship and partnership for the NSVAs in 2021. If you're interested, please email rosie@organised.fun for an informal conversation.
