The Best Vegan Restaurants in Plymouth

AUP Students' Union

Updated: Mar 14

Tomorrow is World Vegan Day so let's dive into some great places to eat that are plant based! First let's start with some of the best vegan-only restaurants.

Cosmic Kitchen

Cosmic Kitchen is a family-run, vegan bistro run by twin sisters, Gabriela and Lucia Evangelou, whose ethos is 'Good Mood Food'. It is actually Plymouth’s first 100% vegan bar, inspired by their Cypriot heritage. Did you know Cosmic Kitchen is actually a world class vegan restaurant ranking at number three in the world?!

Dimpsy's Diner

Dimpsy's is a 100% plant based diner with 1950/60s Americana decor. They serve the classics, burgers, hotdogs, milkshakes and soda floats as well as a tonne of other brilliant options. This is a wicked and sober spot to check out - there's even a jukebox - and for an extra bonus, the coffee is unlimited!

The Hedgerow Hound

The Hedgerow Hound is another award winning, family-run business. They're inspired by world food, creative cooking, as well the plants they are able to forage and grow at their family home on Dartmoor National Park.

Now, if you're thinking you'd like to sample some vegan food, but don't fancy going the whole 'hog' or if you're looking for somewhere to cater to the varied diets of your family or friends, then check out these restaurants with amazing vegan options.

The Harbour Seafood Restaurant and Takeaway

The Harbour is located on Sutton Harbour, offering the best local seafood that Devon and Cornwall has to offer, as well as offering vegan and gluten free options. Their vegan menu includes vegan fish and chips made from banana blossom with vegan tartare sauce, mock squid rings, a burger, and non-dairy ice-cream.

Bonne Santé

Bonne Santé is situated on the Barbican, offering 'health-oriented global eats', which include both vegan and gluten-free options. As well as offering modern, fresh food and cocktails, you can also enjoy the Bottomless Brunch or Supper.

BrewDog Plymouth

BrewDog is a burger and beer joint with some super cool vegan deals. There's 2-4-1 Vegan Mondays and there's bottomless cauliflower wings every Wednesday. They're open late, even until 12am on Sundays, and there's a whole wall full of different craft beers to try. Check out their deals and experiences here.
