There are lots of cool, local artistic opportunities to get involved in over the year. This post focuses on upcoming Art Fairs in Plymouth. If you have any details on other events we'd love to hear them so we can keep you up to date with freelance opportunities in the city. Email us at: studentsunion@aup.ac.uk!
Brewdog Monthly Market | @brewdogplymouth
Brewdog hosts an art fair on the last Sunday of every Month from 11:00am - 16:00pm. You can DM them on instagram to book into the event for free. The tables are quite big and this is great for artists with larger scale work or a large body of products but if you're jsut getting started with trading - it's a great opportunity to team up with a friend or two and share a stall! (see the image below to get a sesne of the space available!)
You can set up from 10am and the Brewdog team are super friendly and keen to engage with the artists which is lovely. The dates for the Christmas Fairs have just gone live too (Sunday 3rd, 10th and 17th December) so definitely get involved with those!
WInter Warmer at The Plot and Union Street Corner:
The Winter Warmer is being held on the 16th December at The Plot and Union Street Corner featuring loads of cool stuff like free vegan food, music, workshops and an arts fair! It costs £10.00 to hire a stall but the profits go back into making sure events like this can be hosted in years to come. To book a table at the art fair or suggest a workshop you'd like to run, contact @theplot_unionstreet on instagram.

Good Food, Craft Market | @royalwilliamyd | royalwilliamyard.com
On the first Sunday of each month at Royal William Yard there's a food and craft fair from 10:00am - 15:00pm. For more information regarding trading click here to contact The Yard directly.

Nice Things Art Fair | @nicethingsartfair | Plymouth based, rolling location
To keep up to date with the Nice Things Art Fair, I'd recommend giving them a follow on Instagram as that's where the most current information gets shared. But they are very cool people doing very cool things. This is an art fair run by an independent pair of artists so the location may be subject to change but previous fairs have been held at Minerva (the cafe, not the pub) and always have free entry.

SU Art Fairs | @artsuniplymsu | The Arts University Plymouth Students' Union
We host a variety of themed/seasonal art fairs throughout the academic year including an LGBTQIA+ Artist's event, and a festive, end of year event. We'll post information abut these via email and instagram nearer to the time but the application process is very simple. Just fill out the google form we share ahead of the event! Our fairs typically run from 10am - 4pm and are always open to the public as well as being supported by staff and students.
The Events Society (@eventsoc.aup) has also hosted Art Fairs in the SU in previous years with members of the society getting early access to information and applications. This society is currently looking for a new lead so get in touch if you'd be interested! See the Societies page for more information on our full list of socs!
