The Students’ Union and Arts University Plymouth’s Human Resources team have teamed up for World Kindness Day to celebrate with a wealth of activities and events for staff and students throughout the day. Please see below everything that’s happening today, including our very own Bake Off and freebies hidden across the campus. Sitcoms and Cereal | 9am - 10am | Students’ Union Come and join us in the Students' Union for a free breakfast and some sitcoms on the TV to start off World Kindness Day right! Grab yourself (or a friend) some coco-pops, rice krispies or another Kellogg's classic to prepare you for the day. Kindness Chains Workshop | 10am - 12pm | Students’ Union Come and join us in the Students' Union to celebrate World Kindness Day by adding a link to our paper chain. We're looking for anyone to contribute some kind words or phrases, names of people you think are kind, some kind acts you've done or some examples of kindness that people have shown you. The aim is to have one big chain of to show that kindness links together the members of the Arts University Plymouth community. We'll be providing everything you need, just drop in between 10am and midday. Bags of Kindness Cross-Campus Hunt | 2pm - 4pm | Tavistock Place and Charles Cross Campus (Students Only) Between 2pm and 4pm, the Student Union President, Beth Evans, and Student Union Manager, Harriet Moore, will be hiding goodie bags across the Tavistock Place and Charles Cross campus. Great AUP Bake Off Charity Sale | 2pm - 5pm | Tavistock Place Reception Are you a budding baker, partial to culinary creativity? Well World Kindness Day is your chance to shine! In our very own 'cake week' we'd love for you to bring in your greatest 'signature bake'. After the cakes have been judged, they’ll be on sale in Tavistock Place Reception to raise money for the University’s chosen charity, Trevi. Judging will take place at 2pm, in the Tavistock Place Reception, and our judge will be Dr Robin Kirby, University Registrar and Deputy Vice Chancellor. There will be four categories: Cupcakes and Muffins, Cake, Free From (Vegan and Gluten Free) and Tray Bakes. Interested in becoming our ‘star baker’? Find out how to enter here. Free Kindness Bookmarks | All Day | Library The Library team are hiding kindness bookmarks in some of their collections! Head to the Library on World Kindness Day (and beyond) to see if you are able to discover any of them. Free Kindness Badges | All Day | Students’ Union Events and Goodie Bags At each of the events in the Students’ Union, and in the goodie bags we’re hiding in the afternoon, we’ll be giving out free kindness badges - and there’s multiple designs to choose from. Say thanks on PeopleHR | All Day | Online via App or Browser (Staff Only) Bring a smile to your colleagues' faces by sharing your thanks! Simply thanking someone for their contribution goes a long way in recognising the part they play. Has someone helped you with work, been a creative problem solver, an ambassador for AUP?
