We all know that Plymouth has a fair amount of rainy days so we've collated a few fun indoor activities that you and your friends can try out in the gloomy weather without getting drenched!

The National Marine Aquarium

First up is a Plymouth classic, the National Marine Aquarium is the UK's largest aquarium and ahs a great deal where you buy a ticket one time and you can use it all year long for free! Pop by for an hour or stay the whole day, there's so much to see and learn about. If you want to take your experience to the next level, try out some of their events like snorkelling, breakfast with sharks and feeding the turtles! See more here. Although there is an admission fee to go in, once you've purchased it, you're entitled to a season pass - meaning for the rest of the year all of your subsequent visits are completely free!

Barbican Theatre

The Barbican Theatre is tucked away alongside the pubs by the seafront and hosts a whole load of brilliant entertainment. Whilst you're there, check out B-Bar and grab a drink. For the musically minded amongst you, they also have a series of workshops in music production and a theatre class!

Prime Skatepark

Prime is Plymouth's only indoor skatepark, making it the perfect spot for a dreary winter day. You can book a free-skate session or a specialist session for beginners or women and non-binary sessions too! If you're new to the sport, there's even the option to hire skateboards, scooters and helmets. Find out more about the sessions and services here.

The Market Hall

Devonport's Market Hall is home to a 15m immersive dome featuring a 19.1 speaker system and 360-degree visuals which displays short films and immersive experiences. You can gaze up at the stars with 'Vast: A Cosmic Journey through Space and Time' or try out a guided meditation session. There's something for everyone - you can check out the full programme here.

Continue? Arcades

Continue? Arcades opened on Royal Parade in May and is a great option for an indoor activity because everything is free play. Pay once for two hours of unlimited play or you can pay an extra £3.50 to be able to enter and exit the arcade and play all day! They've got a bar and they serve snacks including unlimited popcorn for £2.80. Grab your mates and try for a high score.
