We're back again with some more cool stuff you can do when the weather in Plymouth is dampening your mood.
Super Tramp Plymouth
There's so much fun to be had at Super Tramp, from classic trampolines to Basketball hoops, dodgeball courts and giant airbags, everyone can find something to keep themselves entertained! Trampoline sessions are bookable for either 1 or 2 hours and anyone up to the age of 100 can bounce! Check out their full range of activities here.
Check out Plymouth's Market Scene
Plymouth has a few indoor market spaces that are worth a mooch around and what better time to visit than a dreary, rainy day. Head over to Plymouth Market for some great independent food vendors like @kitchen for Vietnamese food upstairs at The Mezzanine, Hedgerow Hound for delicious, homestyle vegan food and K-Street for Korean corn dogs! There's also loads of interesting trade stalls to browse.
Over on Union Street, there's a cool independent market called The Plot which houses an indoor street full of little sheds and 18 small businesses. Pre-Degree alumni and former Vice-President for Further Education, Mimi Jones, runs Queer Out Loud, a hub for Queer makers and performers in the South West and to check out the full list of traders, click here.
Plymouth Karting
Home to not only go karting but also laser tag and rage rooms, Plymouth Karting is the place to be! This is a bit more of an expensive activity but they do have student discounts and a range of deals on their site. There is also a café so you can recharge and rehydrate for all the fun you're having.
Tenpin Bowling
Tenpin Bowling offers bowling, as the name might suggest, but there's also a whole host of other activities you can do to hide away from the rain for the whole day. With onsite food and drinks, laser tag, a full arcade and over ten pool tables you and your friends can dip in and out of solo and group play. There's even a couple of Karaoke booths! They also have student deals so make sure you check those out online. Tenpin Bowling is located in the Barbican Retail Park, so there's tonnes of cool stuff to do before or after your game to keep the good times rolling.
Escape Plymouth
Grab a couple of friends and head over to Escape Plymouth for a range of themed escape rooms where you'll have an hour to figure out how to get back out. From folklore and fairy tales, to science fiction and bank heists, there's something for everyone! The prices are based on group sizes (from 2-7 players) so this could be a good shout for a flat outing. To check out the different rooms, difficulty scales and to book your trip, check out their website here.
Cineworld Unlimited
Going to the cinema is an absolute classic rainy day activity but it can be quite an expensive one, depending on how frequently you go. Cineworld has a subscription-based membership that is pretty affordable and is definitely worth a look if you love films and are looking to hide from the rain but still get out the house.
The premise is pretty simple. It's a subscription service that means you pay a one-time monthly, or annual fee and then you can watch as many films as you like for no other cost! Cineworld Unlimited members also get access to secret screenings before the release of new pictures as well as cheaper prices for food and drinks, plus discounted rates for 'extras' in screenings (3D, 4DX, Imax etc.)
The Cineworld Unlimited price is dependent on where you live or go to the cinema. Locations are grouped together with a tiered price system. Plymouth, along with Aberdeen, Cardiff, York and Weymouth, to name a few, is in 'Group One' which costs £10.99 a month meaning two trips to the cinema in a month would cost £5.50 per film or a weekly visit to the cinema for a month works out at £2.75 per film.
Best,
