Ideas for a Productive Evening of Self-Care

Balancing your studies, social life, and personal well-being can be challenging, but prioritizing self-care is essential. Check out these ideas for a relaxing and creative self-care evening.

Go Outside. If you haven't already, make sure you get some fresh air. Listen to an audiobook and head on a walk or just sit in your garden. If you really can't get outside, open a window and Take a moment and practice mindfulness. Close your eyes, take deep breaths, and let go of any stress or worries. This can help you focus and fully immerse yourself in the present moment.

Once you're back inside, set the mood by transforming your space into a cosy sanctuary. Dim the lights, turn on the fairy lights, light some candles, and play your favourite tunes. Let the ambiance inspire and relax you as you unwind from a busy day.

Make a To-Do list. Make sure to combine fun things as well as chores. This will give you the chance to empty your mind of all the things you need to do as well as help you respect the value in the things you want to do. Spend some time checking things off of the list, in which ever order you like. You don't have to do all of them but this will help you feel productive which will make it easier to relax!

Let your creative juices flow. Whether you enjoy painting, drawing or playing the guitar, give yourself the time to express yourself freely. There are no rules, just make something.

Change your bed sheets. There's nothing nicer than a fresh set of duvet covers (especially if you've had a warm shower or bath before hand). Make your space nice and clean and remind yourself that you deserve that. Clear away any cups or water bottles; Don't worry if you can't wash them up, just move them from your bedroom and have a stretch or pull funny faces in the mirror to get back in touch with your body.

Grab a cuppa tea and a journal and write down your thoughts or activities from the day. Put your PJ's on and wind down for the evening - bonus points if you turn your phone off or don't look at it for the last hour before you head off to sleep.
